I'm glad the 5-6 shows not yet in circulation soon will be. I hope the free copies I get sound as good as I hope.

"I'm glad the 5-6 shows not yet in circulation soon will be..."

Which 5-6 shows are you referring to?

Every show from the tour circulates and almost all of them in very good to excellent sound quality. The sound quality of several of the circulating remasters are among the very best from any era.

4/29 is really the only performance in need of a sonic upgrade (and perhaps the first set of 4/7) and only 5/25 is incomplete.

I am wondering what the vault remaster of the 5/16 Radio Luxembourg show is going to sound like. I wouldnt be surprised if sbd.unknown.10353.sbeok.shnf sounds better than the vault release...

"not yet in circulation" is quite a bit different from does not circulate in pristine sound quality!

4/7 Wembley - aud.sirmick.31329.sbeok.flacf is very poor quality (D-). This show needs an upgrade! However the second set jam is on the "Steppin' Out" release and several other highlight were used at the Teper's Section which means that they have been captured and are available if you know where to look or how to ask.

4/11 Newcastle - sbd.jackson.smith.94377.sbeok.flac16 is slightly degraded, a touch muddy with some hiss but it's still pretty good (A-). It's not as brilliant as some of the better recordings from this European tour but there really is not much to complain about. The great Truckin' Jam will benefit from a sonic upgrade.

4/16 Aarhus - The first set is only available in rather poor quality sbd.pset1.hanno.19861.sbeok.shnf (B). The second set sbd.miller.18103.sbeok.shnf sounds better (A-), though still suffers some oversaturation. The second set jam is available from the Taper's Section.

4/29 Hamburg - sbd.sirmick.32877.sbeok.flac16 is a muddy, dull and degraded soundboard recording suffering from hiss, pitch issues and oversaturation (B+). aud.vernon.5250.sbeok.shnf is a decent quality audience recording (A-). This is a phenomenal performance that will be blowing minds when this official release hits mailboxes!

5/7 Bickershaw - sbd-aud.clugston.9193.sbeok.shnf composite file of this performance consists of a fair to poor (hissy/noisey) audience recording of the majority of the show, and a very nice quality master reel sourced soundboard recording of the second set jam and the later portion of the set (B+/A). The second set jam is available at the Taper's Section.

5/25 - sbd.miller.87682.sbeok.flac16 has a touch of hiss but is still very good (A/A-). It's also incomplete so it's going to be nice the hear the end of the set for the first time! Uncle John's Band> Wharf Rat> Dark Star> Sugar Magnolia are available from the Taper's Section.

Rhino learned nothing from the Fillmore West 69 boxset. Put "limited edition" on a release and thieves come out in force. Those goddamned CDs won't be delivered for more than 6 months; yet opening bids on FleaBay are already at $1500. The artists will get none of these obscene tax free profits.

Those at the top of the food chain don't even care about this dirty racket. A band member will probably deliver an autographed copy to KPFA and drop it on David Gans's head.

I'll stay with my bootlegs until these Warner Bros. / Rhino idiots change their business practices...

I meant 5-6 shows not yet circulating as listenable recordings, sorry for the confusion.
